fal Launches FLUX 3 Max, a Faster Post-Trained Version of FLUX 3 Video, at 75% Off
fal’s FLUX 3 Max is a post-trained version of FLUX 3 video that makes a 10-second clip in about 12 seconds. It’s 75% off through November 7.
fal has launched FLUX 3 Max, a post-trained version of Black Forest Labs’ FLUX 3 video model, developed by fal Research in partnership with Black Forest Labs. fal says it generates a 10-second 720p video in about 12 seconds.
It’s 75% off through November 7, bringing 720p video down to $0.0425 per second during the promotion.
What fal Changed

FLUX 3 Max starts from Black Forest Labs’ original FLUX 3 video model and adds fal’s own post-training and inference optimization. fal says that improved quality by 50 Elo points and made generation 11.5 times faster.
fal also says FLUX 3 Max is tied for first place in image-to-video quality on third-party benchmarks. Its model page describes the result as a “joint #1” in a preliminary evaluation and notes rankings may shift as more votes come in.
The approach mirrors fal’s H3 Max, its post-trained version of MiniMax’s H3, covered in fal Brings MiniMax H3 Max to Its Platform. For background on how models get faster, see What Is Model Distillation in AI Video?.
Features

FLUX 3 Max is available on fal in three modes: text-to-video, image-to-video, and keyframes-to-video, which takes a first and last frame and generates the motion between them.
Clips run 5 to 20 seconds with native audio, and aspect ratios include 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, and 9:16. A reasoning-level setting lets the model expand your prompt automatically for more detailed results.
fal says the model excels at photorealism, including lifelike textures, natural motion, and cinematic lighting.
Pricing

During the promotion, FLUX 3 Max costs $0.0425 per second at 720p, so a 10-second clip runs about $0.43. After November 7, the price returns to $0.17 per second.
fal’s model page also lists 1080p at $0.0725 per second during the promotion and $0.29 afterward.
Those regular prices match what Black Forest Labs charges for the original FLUX 3 at HD and Full HD. That means FLUX 3 Max offers the same price per second with faster generation.
Competitive Context
This new video model from @fal x @bfl_ai is remarkable.

All of these clips were text-to-video, generated in <10 seconds (22x faster than Seedance 2.5 🤯).
AI video no longer needs to be painfully slow and expensive. We're entering a new era! https://t.co/cr8OpCHc38 pic.twitter.com/egTok3Lds9
Black Forest Labs released FLUX 3 video in August with up to 20-second clips, native audio, and lip-synced dialogue in more than 14 languages. BFL’s own testing placed it ahead of MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni Flash, and Seedance 2.0.
FLUX 3 has been used for storyboarding and precise editing, covered in FLUX 3 for Image Storyboards and AI Video Keyframes and FLUX 3 Video Edit.
FLUX 3 Max now competes with Seedance 2.5, Kling, Veo, and H3 Max among top models, with speed and the launch discount as its main selling points.
The Signal in the Noise
For anyone iterating on shots, a 10-second clip in about 12 seconds changes the workflow. You can test more prompts and variations in the time other models take to render one.
The 75% discount makes it inexpensive to try through November 7. After that, it’s priced the same as the original FLUX 3, so the question will be whether the speed and quality gains hold up in your own tests.
